ASA/Illinois Pro/Am Championships

The City of Metropolis and Mermet Lake Fish & Wildlife Area sponsors the Superman Classic each year, a cash prize archery competition. Archers are eligible to shoot once per day during the 3-day tournament for a one-time $20 fee. Combined prize money for the professional and amateur classes will be $15,000 plus. Spectators can watch for free.
26 tentative classes to be offered includes: Open Pro, Senior Pro, Women’s Pro, Semi-Pro, Known 50, Open A, Men’s Unlimited (fixed pins), Senior Men’s, Open B, Known 45 (Senior Known) Open, Women’s Open A, Women’s Known 45, Super Senior, Senior Masters, Senior Women’s, Senior Hunter (fixed pins), Hunter (fixed pins), Open C, Young Adult Male, Women’s Open B, Women’s Known 40, Crossbow, Traditional, Bow Novice (fixed pins), and Women’s Hunter (fixed pins), High School Pins (Gr 9th-12th).
Ranges will be set to meet qualifications for the specific classes. Shooters will be categorized based on their current ASA Classification.
Children are welcome to participate so there will be fun for the entire family. Youth classes are free of charge and each participating you will receive a prize. Tentative classes to be offered includes: Middle School Pins (6th-8th grades), Youth Boys Open (age 13-14), Youth Girls Open (age 13-14), Senior Eagle Open (age 11-12), Eagle Open (age 9-10), Junior Eagle Open (age 6-8), and Elementary Pins (3rd-5th grades).
All ranges change daily and are open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Registration is from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and score cards must be returned immediately after completion of the course. Once score cards have been returned to registration office, no changes will be allowed. No score cards will be accepted after 6 p.m. No archer will be allowed to enter the course after 3 p.m.
