Intro to Social Ballroom Dancing

paducah dance academy

First Monday (and next 3 Mondays)
Intro to Social Ballroom Dancing
6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Paducah Dance Academy, 6650 Old Cairo Rd., Paducah, Ky.

Waltz, tango, foxtrot, cha-cha, rumba, salsa, hustle, and swing are just a few of the dances taught in this class. Each class lasts one hour, and during the month, two dances are selected out of a rotation of at least six dances. Students will learn through demonstration, discussion, and dancing the basic figures of each dance, and also how to communicate through dancing the roles of leader/follower, to make dancing easier and more understandable.

Dancing is a great activity to meet friends, stay active, improve memory and coordination, and express oneself. This class is casual, but is organized to flow sequentially through figures and explanations so that nobody’s left behind. Private lessons and private group classes are also available upon request/availability. Partners not required, but recommended.

Cost is $25 per person for the month, which includes four Monday classes, one hour each. The class meets the first four Mondays of each month, except for holidays and special events.
