The Empty Bowls Project of Paducah will host two events at the Paducah School of Art and Design (PSAD) in preparation for the Empty Bowls Luncheon on Feb. 25.
- A Throw-A-Thon will he held on Monday, February 6, from 5 to 8 PM.
- A Glaze-A-Thon will be held on Friday, February 17, from 3 to 7 PM
Individuals ages 14 and older are invited to throw and glaze ceramic bowls that will be used as serving bowls and commemorative gifts to participants at this year’s Empty Bowls Project.
The Throw-A-Thon and Glaze-A-Thon events are free to the public. All instruction and materials will be provided by PSAD. These two creative events will help produce some of the 1,700 bowls for this annual fundraiser, an event that provides operational support to Paducah’s Community Kitchen.

Each year, around 1,700 bowls are made by hand, glazed by community members and filled by local restaurants.
This is done entirely through volunteer efforts and benefits the Community Kitchen, which provides about 54,000 free meals to those in need every year. Tickets are $15 and entitle attendees to select one handmade bowl and local restaurants will fill it for lunch.
