2nd Annual Big Blue Photography Contest Deadline is June 1

2nd Annual Big Blue Photography Contest – 2017
Sponsored by Brookport Betterment Committee

The contest is open to residents of Massac, Hardin, Pop, Gallatin, Pulaski, and Alexander counties of Illinois and McCracken, Livingston, and Crittenden in Kentucky.

Divisions for entry are: People – Black & White – Ohio River Scenic Byway, and Inanimate Objects. There is a $3 fee per entry with no limit on the number of entries. The Junior Division has a $1 entry fee.

Photos may either be 5×7 or 8×10 and must be matted. No frames with glass will be accepted. The person submitting the photo must be the one who took the picture. Photos are judged on the quality of composition, creativity and the use of photographic technique.

Each photograph submitted should have the location of the picture taken, the division in which it is to be entered and the name, address and phone number written on the back of the matting for unbiased judging.

People’s Choice Voting

People’s Choice Award will be determined by public voting at 25 cents per vote during normal business hours on Monday-Friday.

Thursday, June 29
Reception

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The reception is being held to recognize the local talent taking photographs of the surrounding area. The photos were judged by Craig Rhodes, retired art teacher from Massac High School. Ribbons were awarded for first, second and third places. Many of the photographs were taken with cell phones. Entry fees fund the projects of the Brookport Betterment Committee. Refreshments will be served

The Brookport Betterment Committee reserves the right to use credited photographs on their website or organizational material. All proceeds will be used to complete work on the Brookport gym and to make updates to the library.
