The 2018 Spring Ozark Tour is Saturday, April 7, 2018.
Highlight of this Spring Tour includes visiting 3 of the 11 “Stoneforts” in southern Illinois: Murray Bluff, Stonefort Bluff, and Millstone Bluff. Archaeologists and Historians who have studied these stone walls will provide interpretation at the sites, as well as point out interesting Indian Rock Art at the Mill-stone site. An Indian Stone Kettle site will also be visited. Botanist Chris Benda will identify spring wildflowers.
Cost is $40 per person and includes lunch, transportation, guidebook, t-shirt, and interpreters. The bus will leave on Saturday at 8:30 am at the Shawnee National Forest head-quarters in Harrisburg. Please pre-register.
