MLK Holiday Closures
Many offices and businesses will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including banks, government offices, post offices and some retail businesses. Massac Unit One and Joppa Maple Grove school districts will not be in session.

American Spiritual Ensemble

The vocalists’ mission is to keep the American Negro spiritual alive. They have performed around the world with songs ranging from spirituals to classical to jazz and Broadway numbers. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students/children. Visit website for more details.


Bristol’s Annual Winter Bridal Expo

Come and find out how to plan that dream wedding. Vendord from all over the area that have anything to do with weddings will be here, plus thousands of dollars in door prizes, everything to do with weddings. Empty Bowls Throw-A-Thon
5 p.m.
Paducah School of Art & Design, 905 Harrison St., Paducah
Everyone is welcome to join in this project to help end hunger.  Materials will be provided to make a bowl.  The Empty Bowls organization gathers bowls from artists, students and community members that they have made and pair those with wonderful foods made by local restaurants.  All of the proceeds every year go to feed people who truly have empty bowls. Annual Pinewood Derby: Dinner at the Races
5 p.m. – 9 p,m.
Metropolis Community Center, 900 W. 10th St., Metropolis
Cub Scout Pack 101 invites you to a dinner which includes pork and chicken barbecue by Duley Noted BBQ, potato salad and baked beans, drinks, and a derby themed cake by Tanya Pollard for only $5. Doors open at 4 to purchase your ticket, seating and dinner at 5.
